What are some good camping ideas for a group of 20?
We are going camping for a little over two weeks in July, so it’ll probably be hot and sticky (humid).
All of us have went actual camping before (not just in the backyard), so we all have experience.
Ages of the people going: From 19-25
What are good meals for us to make?
What would be some good games to play?
What are some good activities for us to do?
What should we definitely bring no matter what?
We will be sleeping in tents.
We go camping with a huge group every summer and with a little planning it’s always a great time!
Meals: A lot of this depends on the facilities that are available to you. Will you have a stove, a cook top or just a fire? If you have a stove, try making meals ahead of time to bring with you like lasagna or macaroni and cheese/ casseroles. Then you can just heat them up there and not have to bring a ton of things to prepare them. Use the aluminum trays that can just be thrown away after. If you will just have a cook top and fire then plan on lots of hot dogs
Also a family favorite of ours are potato pockets. Put out a whole bunch of cut up potato’s and extras like carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, onions, meats, etc. Have everyone take a sheet of aluminum foil, fill it up with potato’s and whatever other goodies they want, throw in some oil or butter, salt, pepper, etc, wrap up and put in the coals of a fire. When they are done (about a half hour, be sure to turn often) just open and eat!
Games: Pinatas can actually be surprisingly fun even for the older folks! We filled ours with candy bars and some adult gag gifts, card games, and campfire games are always a LOT of fun!
Activities: Try going for a hike and before you leave look up some local area’s of interest. We camp right near a wine trail and going wine tasting one afternoon is a tradition and always a good time.
Definitely Bring: We always bring tons of antibacterial gel for the times you can’t get to a faucet, duct tape!, tarps in case it rains, big garbage bags (to put wet stuff in if it rains, etc.) sunblock, first aide kit and alcohol!!
Hope this helps and have fun!!

Good Meals: Wraps, Taco in a Bag, Burgers, Hot Dogs, Steak, Kebabs, Chili, Spaghetti, S’mores, pancakes, stew, baked beans,
Games:
Treasure/Scavenger Hunt – Buy a couple of cheap dollar store puzzles. color the backs of them so that each puzzle has the same colour on the back. Hide those pieces all around the camp site. Divide into teams (as many as puzzles you have marked and hidden). The first team to complete their puzzle wins.
Charades – old one… but a good one!
Any board game that has a party type feel – the new Partini games would be good. Any of the cranium games. They don’t have to be played with a board… and all encourage interaction.
Ladder Gold – easy to make (or buy) easy to play
Water Gun fights – or spray bottles and buckets… or water balloons…
Activities – canoeing, horseback riding, hiking, nature walk, golf
Definitely bring: First aid kit, hand sanitizer, SUNSCREEN, sun burn lotion, bug repellent, ground cloths or blankets to sit on, fold up chairs, coolers, hats, couple decks of cards, a handfull of dice, spray bottles for water – to spritz when it is humid and sticky
